Sankalpa – Setting a soulful intention for your yoga practice //Sankalpa – asentando una intención a tu práctica de yoga

In this days for most of the people when they hear “yoga” the first thing that comes to their mind is strange poses. Yoga means “union”, the goal of yoga is been aware of the state of your mind and body, and asnas (poses) are just a tool to reach this state of mind.

Ideally everytime that you start your practice you set a soulful intention  or “Sankalpa”. I have to confess that a lot of times I struggle setting an intention of my practice, so I have a proposal that I found helpful and fun that will give us ideas of intentions. In June 2015, Sankalpa Yoga Community, an amazing project that supports independent yogis and artist, created by lovely couple of yoguis, are launching a challenge on instagram, this is how it works:

EACH DAY they will offer a unique Sankalpa ~ a soulful intention ~ to help us clarify a goal, inspire change, and bring more mindfulness to our routine.

TO ENTER: Share a picture on Instagram that embodies the day’s intention – asana photos, selfies, or photos that speak to the day’s Sankalpa are welcome! Be sure to include #LiveSankalpa and tag @LiveSankalpa in your post.

Hoy en día para la mayoría de las personas usando escuchan la palabra “yoga” lo primero que les viene a la mente son posiciones raras. Yoga significa “unión”, el propósito del yoga es estar atento  del estado de nuestra mente y cuerpo, y las asnas (posiciones) son sólo una herramienta para alcanzar este estado mental.

Idealmente cada vez que empiezas a practicar, asientas una intención profunda o “Sankalpa”. Tengo que confesar que muchas veces me cuesta trabajo hacerlo. Por lo tanto tengo una propuesta que encuentro útil y divertida que nos dará ideas de intenciones. Un reto en instagram patrocinado por @livesankalpa .
